Ingredients:

2 cups rice
2 small potatoes (peeled and cut in 4 pieces each)
1 med. onion (sliced)
2 tspn. salt
1 tbsn. garlic & ginger paste
2 tomatos (diced)
1 tspn. chilli powder
2 tspn. haldi(turmeric)
1 tspn. methi daana (fenugreek seeds)

Preparation:

Wash rice, soak in water and set aside.
In pan, heat oil, fry sliced onions until golden brown add meti dana.
On med. heat add in ginger/garlic paste, chili powder, haldi.
Mix for few seconds then add diced tomatoes and potatoes.
You may need to add little bit of water to keep it from sticking to bottom.
Mix around and keep it covered until potatoes are half cooked, stirring frequently.
Tomatoes should start to become a paste.
When potatoes start to get soft, add in rice, mix and add 34 cups of water and let it cook on med.low.
It is done when rice has cooked and water is gone.
Serve and eat hot with Raita.
